THE FIRST STEP IN EMERGENCY CARPET CARE

When accidents happen, you must act quickly to remove the spill or contaminant before it penetrates deeply into the carpet fibers. Use a spoon to remove solids, or a dry absorbent white cloth to remove liquids.

.
Carpet which has been treated with a soil protector such as DuPont Teflon® Advanced, H & F Steemer SuperShield (manufactured by DuPont) or 3M Scotchgard® Carpet and Upholstery Protectors will "spot clean" easier than carpet which has not been protected. The need for rapid spill clean-up is imperative to prevent permanent staining or the possibility of odor development if food or beverage spills or animal accidents penetrate into the carpet backing or pad.
.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Before using any cleaning agent, test for color fastness and water spotting in an inconspicuous area before applying to affected areas. Do not use if any change in color or texture is noticeable.

Dry cleaning fluids, lighter fluids, and other "dry" solvents are not recommended for spot cleaning because of health hazards and potential damage to carpeting and fabrics.
